Translators sought for African, Asian, and South American languages

Charity 'Thare Machi Education' translating coronavirus safety video

Organisers of local charity Thare Machi Education have been left 'astonished' by the level of response they've had in their search for translators.

In association with UK charity, Education Saves Lives, the organisation is looking for foreign speakers to assist them in translating an English online lesson about the coronavirus.

It explains basic measures of protection against the virus, and discusses the importance of consuming the right information from trusted sources.

Thare Machi Education has thanked everyone who has been in touch to help.

Locals are now concentrating on translating languages used in Africa, Asia, and South America - as these are the regions where the lack of accurate information is greatest.

French, Spanish, and Portuguese translations are also being worked on.

If you, or someone you know, can help you can contact Rosemary by emailing rosemary.clarke@googlemail.com or phoning 843262.

A link to the online lesson can be found here, and a full list of languages currently being concentrated on can be found below.
