Travel update for December 23

Things are slowly continuing to get back to normal on the travel front, after the recent heavy snowfalls.

Isle of Man Airport opened on time this morning (Thursday) but, after another heavy overnight frost, the roads are again extremely slippery, and police are telling motorists they must drive to the conditions.

The Mountain Road is stilll closed, along with several other higher altitude routes, and a couple of roads in Douglas.

However, they are all being examined by police at either 11am or 5pm today, to see if they can be reopened.

The Shoulder Road in the south of the Island will be closed until at least 11am tomorrow.

Bus Vannin is bringing more services back, the main one this morning being Service 21, which goes from Pulrose, via Anagh Coar, to Castletown.

However, it still won't be serving Hazel or Heather crescents, or Anagh Coar Road.

The service is due to resume at 8am.
