DEFA hunts Christmas tree criminals

Witnesses to call DEFA or Crimestoppers

Illegal tree felling in Ballaugh Forest has prompted the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture to ask for help to catch the culprits.

Several ash trees were recently taken from the site, and there have a been a number of Christmas trees illegally felled from the same location over an extended period of time.

DEFA wants the public to be vigilant when reporting suspicious activity in the Island's forests, plantations and glens.

Anyone with suspicious activity to report is asked to call DEFA on 695 701, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
