20-year-old denies domestic abuse
A Douglas man who’s been accused of breaking his girlfriend’s cheekbone will stand trial.
Jack Thornton Mallaby, of Urley Path, denied committing a domestic abuse offence during an appearance at Douglas Courthouse.
The 20-year-old also allegedly perforated her eardrum during an incident at a property in Onchan on 14 May.
Committal proceedings – where the case is elevated to the Court of General Gaol Delivery – will take place on 7 December; he’s been bailed until that date.
Update: At the Court of General Gaol Delivery on 2 February Mr Mallaby entered a not guilty plea to the offence. A three-day trial will start on 11 September; he's been bailed until that date.
