Home pick-ups for off-Island trips
The Department of Health and Social Care is to trial out a new service for people who need to travel off-Island for appointments.
Patients in the north will have the option of being taken to Ronaldsway, or the Sea Terminal in Douglas, directly from their homes by bus.
The scheme, in conjunction with Bus Vannin, will begin on Monday (30 July).
Starting at 5am each day, the minibus service will enable patients on early departures to make their flight or sailing on time.
This new patient transfer service could be extended to all patients on the Island, as well as their travelling companions, as early as September.
The DHSC has stressed it is separate from the existing Patient Transport Service, which assists patients locally.
For more information, you can contact the Patient Transfer Office at Noble's Hospital by emailing patient.transfers@gov.im.
