TT fans being targeted in Liverpool

Opportunistic thieves hit IoM visitors

Merseyside Police are teaming up with local hotels and Isle of Man TT organisers to raise awareness of motorbike thefts in the build-up to the festival.

Racegoers travel by road from across Europe to attend the event.

But last year, there were 22 reports of motorbikes being taken whilst parked up outside hotels in Liverpool as riders waited for the ferry.

Officers in Liverpool are carrying out 'high-visibility policing' in crime hotspots, and delivering safeguarding advice at city hotels to layover fans.

Bikers are being advised to park in different places each night, if possible, and to fit their kit with forensic marking technology.

Anyone with information on bike theft is asked to speak to officers, call 101 in the UK, or get in touch with CrimeStoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
