Two charities come together for beach party

Event aims to provide entertainment for all ages

UPDATE: A press release from Beach Buddies was issued on Friday (30) at 10am as follows:

"The unpredictable summer weather has resulted in the postponement of the Seaside Fun Day planned for tomorrow in Port Erin.

"The two charities jointly running the event have reluctantly decided to postpone tomorrow's Seaside Fun Day in Port Erin due to the weather forecast, especially the high winds.

"Beach Buddies and Breast Cancer Now are hoping to run the event at another time soon, but no firm date has been fixed.

"The charities wish to offer their sincere thanks to all the volunteers who offered to help and for the many offers of prizes from local traders in Port Erin.

"A spokesman said: 'We hope volunteers will be able to give us their support for this event when it's re-scheduled, and for other events we are planning for the future.'

The original story read as follows:

Tomorrow, Beach Buddies and Breast Cancer Now Isle of Man have arranged for live music, art activities and competitions to take place on the beach between midday and 5pm.

Bill Dale from Beach Buddies believes there are lots of connections between the two charities:
