Crews called to blazes in Port Erin and Douglas
Firefighters were called out to two separate incidents around the Island yesterday afternoon (Wed).
The first call came from Port Erin, where staff at a shop had smelled smoke nearby.
A small electrical fire was discovered in a light fitting, which was quelled with the help of Manx Utilities and an electrician.
Then later, a large grass fire was spotted on the beach near Battery Pier in Douglas.
Two vehicles were dispatched to the scne, where aqua packs and beaters were used to quickly dampen the flames.
Both jobs took around 30 minutes each.
