Missing two found in Irish Sea

Two launched from Port Logan in Dumfries and Galloway on Saturday morning

Manx lifeboat crews involved in search

The bodies of two men have been found after an extensive search operation in the Irish Sea - involving Manx lifeboat crews.

Peel and Ramsey volunteers joined other services from Scotland and Northern Ireland to scour the Dumfries and Galloway coastline, and other areas based on known and projected movements.

Welsh rescue helicopters were also drafted in to search for the pair, whose small sixteen-foot boat was last seen launching from Port Logan on Saturday morning.

Their failure to return by 6:15pm prompted a missing persons report.

It's believed the men - aged 35 and 46 respectively - have now been found in the Irish Sea, but are yet to be formally identified.

Police Scotland say investigations are being carried out to find out what happened.
