Two motorcyclists killed in Mountain Road crash

Two motorcyclists were killed in a crash on the Mountain Road earlier today, police have confirmed.

The collision happened at 11.10am by the Black Hut and involved a German registered Ducati 848 and a UK registered Yamaha YZF600R.

They made contact with each other and then both caught fire.

Both riders were pronounced dead at the scene.

A third rider, who was on another Ducati, was also taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The road has remained closed for investigations and will not re-open until after racing at the Festival of Motorcycling tomorrow (Monday).
