Hooper challenges government to reconsider approach
Tynwald has agreed a 'robust and speedy system of genomic testing is vital in the fight against' Covid-19.
Members voted unanimously to support a motion by Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper, following a debate on the issue.
Tests are currently sequenced in Liverpool despite an offer from a Manx company to do them on Island for free.
In a lengthy debate, Mr Hooper called for government to learn from previous experiences:
"When you're delivering healthcare on an island, your costs are going to be higher"
