
The Island’s Acting Attorney General John Quinn has apologised to Tynwald over confusion within his offices.
Today, a policy review committee sharply criticised the Department of Education which had refused to reveal legal advice it had been given over a proposed pupil database.
The department said it had been told it wasn’t allowed to go public with the legal opinions it had received from the Attorney General’s chambers because it was legally privileged.
This afternoon, however, Mr Quinn told the court his staff had been at fault:
