MHKs comment on rising crime figures
Concerns have been raised in Tynwald over the prevalence of sexual offences in the Island.
It's after the Chief Constable's Annual Report suggested policing abuse was becoming an increasing priority for the force.
Tynwald members unanimously accepted the findings of the Report, which highlighted an 11% spike in crime, yesterday (Tue).
But a number of politicians voiced unrest over how police deal with other matters, including mentally ill people, dangerous driving and cannabis posession.
Many MHKs - including Garff member Daphne Caine - rose to air their views on the state of modern Manx policing:
'Power of veto' might help get difficult decisions through, says chief minister
Gas prices to remain unchanged for 2026
Ramsey Commissioners not adding 'optional' one percent increase to social housing rents
New gynaecology clinic room will 'significantly increase capacity'
