Eighteen questions for oral answer

The Island's parliament meets in its entirety this morning, from 10:30 at the Legislative Buildings in Douglas (15 May).

Government's proposed purchase of the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company is perhaps the biggest topic to discuss at this month's Tynwald sitting.

With eighteen questions for oral answer, seven for written answer, and twenty-one items of business on the order paper, members have plenty of other things to discuss, though.

The National Telecoms Infrastructure Committee Report is up for debate, which could lead to the Department for Enterprise formulating a national telecoms strategy by October.

The co-location of St Thomas' School and Scoill Vallajeelt will be discussed once more, with a bid to put pressure on the Education Department from South Douglas MHK Kate Beecroft.

A report on endoscopy services at Noble's Hospital will be put forward by the Social Affairs Policy Review Committee - there'll also be a statement from the Health Minister on breast clinic assessments.

Members will 'look west', as Peel's sewage treatment strategy moves into the spotlight.

General Data Protection Regulations will be the focus of continued attention, and finally the Tynwald Honours Committee will make a nomination for this year's Tynwald Honour.
