The Health Minister has reversed a controversial decision to stop new admissions to three residential homes for the elderly .
Last month the minister announced Glenside and Reayrt ny Baie homes in Douglas and the Cummal Mooar Centre in Ramsey would stop taking long-term admissions.
Instead, the department was to to expand its care in the community, so elderly people could stay in their homes, longer.
Health Minister Eddie Teare (pictured), said the plans were now on hold after two unrelated and unforeseen demands on the DHSS:
DHSC looking to 'map clear way forward' over bed shortages
Strike off process against companies with out-of-date information starts
DEFA reviewing governance and operational structure at abattoir
More roadworks planned for busy Douglas route
