Ramsey teenagers accused of producing MDMA and cannabis
A court’s heard forensic evidence against two teenagers from Ramsey has faced huge delays because of coronavirus in the UK.
Eighteen-year-old Matthew John George Williams of May Hill and 19-year-old Michael Peter Gawne of Waterloo Road appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes via a live video link.
Both are charged with producing £70,000 worth of MDMA tablets and cannabis to the Isle of Man.
Mr Gawne denies the allegations, and Mr Williams has yet to enter pleas.
Despite the drugs being sent away to a UK lab for testing in December last year, prosecution advocate Chrissie Hunt said Covid-19 meant results were unlikely to arrive on the Island until late May.
Both were remanded in custody and will appear again on 16 April.
