One of the leading lights in Isle of Man Crimestoppers is taking up a key role with the charity in the United Kingdom.
Former volunteer chair of the Island's Crimestoppers Phil O'Shea has been appointed deputy chair of the organisation's National Advisory Board.
The job will see him drive forward community groups around the UK, motivate their leaders and bring more people into the movement, especially in communities where reporting of crime is lowest.
Mr O'Shea says he will draw on the long-term success of Crimestoppers here:
MHK questions whether environmental health is being 'contracted out'
'Times are hard' for local charities but working with other organisations is 'really special'
'The TT is our crown jewel' says caterer
