Hopes September's election will restore balance
Women's domination of the top jobs in UK politics has highlighted a sharp contrast with women's progress in Manx politics.
Today, Theresa May will become Prime Minister, after her only rival for control of the Tory party Andrea Leadsom stepped aside.
Meanwhile Angela Eagle continues to vye for the Labour leadership.
Women are poorly represented in the Manx parliament - with Kate Beecroft the only current member.
She's hoping September's general election will restore balance.
Mrs Beecroft says the UK and Manx positions offer quite a contrast:
Main route through Foxdale closed due to RTC
Michelle Mone-linked PPE firm liquidated and unlikely to repay £148m
Yellow weather warning for coastal overtopping
Proposed new laws would support homeless people on the Isle of Man
