132 medical vacancies available at end of October
A UK-wide shortage of podiatrists has impacted the Island's ability to recruit staff.
That's according to Health Minister David Ashford, who was asked about the issue by a caller on Manx Radio's Mannin Line programme.
The latest unemployment figures from the Isle of Man Government show the medical sector has the second-highest number of vacant posts on the Island, with 132 roles available at the end of October.
Mr Ashford insists it's not just a problem for the Island:
Main road between Peel and Douglas to shut for tree felling
'Targeted and intelligence led approach' to protect Island's borders during Irish sailings
Airport Director role advertised with top salary of £120,000
Traders on Michael Street feel 'abandoned' by politicians in tough times
