
A union official is warning there is more to come in the stalemate over prison officers' mileage allowances, following yesterday's ballot.
The employees rejected an offer of 40p for every mile travelled over and above their usual journeys, and say they are determined to hold out for 52p. The higher figure matches that paid to the Island's politicians.
