Unions question pensions law

The law behind proposed changes to public sector pensions in the Isle of Man is being brought into question.

The Trades Council is concerned about the possible effects on current and future contributors to the schemes, and says staff bodies representing 10,000 workers are united in their opposition.

Angela Moffatt (pictured), who represents staff at Government Offices, says the unions are looking into the goverment's legal position (audio file attached):

Angela Moffatt was speaking to John Moss on Mandate.

The Trades Council has invited members of Tynwald to a briefing on the subject, at Transport House on October 9.
