"Untruths being spun" about Sulby Riverside project, says developer

Petition calls for housing estate plans to be dropped

The developer behind plans to build a housing estate next to a nature reserve in Ramsey has hit back against petitioners who want the project scrapped.

The Sulby Riverside scheme would see around 200 new homes, parks and a pub built on land along the banks of the Sulby River close to the centre of the town.

But a recently-launched petition argues the Poyll Dooey reserve, a salt marsh, is one of the last few open and green spaces and should be left untouched.

Meanwhile, Project Director Josh Church says there are 'untruths' being spread about the flood risks:
