Health Minister Eddie Teare is reassuring Isle of Man residents they won't have to pay for any treatment in hospitals in the United Kingdom, for the time being.
He was updating Tynwald on the work undertaken by his department in preparation for the ending of the reciprocal healthcare agreement with the UK, at the end of March, 2010.
In reply to a question from Onchan MHK Peter Karran, he said there had been a number of meetings with the UK Department of Health to discuss the implications.
Mr Teare accepted it was a matter of serious concern to Isle of Man residents:
Childcare Credit payments to increase
Police appeal after two motorcycles involved in collision
Manx Care advice to those on Depo-Provera injection
Health minister welcomes reduction to dental waiting list
