US goods warning from Customs officer

Be wary of what you buy on the internet and where it's coming from.

That's the message from Isle of Man Customs and Excise as it carries out the task of checking incoming international post, to make sure relevant taxes and duties have been paid.

The duties are applied to goods acquired from outside of the European Union, to make sure local retailers have a level playing field and aren't being undercut by traders in other countries.

Isle of Man Customs officer Graham Dugdale says buyers should be especially wary of goods from the United States:
