User Agreement challenge

A legal challenge to the Steam Packet Company's User Agreement will reach the Manx courts today (Thursday).

Island businessman Peter Whipp is challenging the agreement, which effectively guarantees the Steam Packet the sole use of the linkspan
at Douglas port.

Athol Street-based Seaside Shipping Ltd, of which Mr Whipp is a director, lodged a petition of doleance against the Department of Transport in September.

A directions hearing will be heard at Douglas courthouse (pictured) today.
