Various options available to help senior amputee, says treasury minister

John Morris claims his benefits are limited because of his age

The treasury minister says there are various avenues available to an amputee who's been told he doesn't qualify for a disability benefit. 

Earlier today, Manx Radio reported on John Morris, who after turning 65, had his right leg amputated. 

Due to his age, current legislation prevents people over 65 from accessing disability support, meaning he only receives attendance allowance.

But the minister, Alex Allinson, says there are options available through the adult social services team:
