There's a 'very promising' chance of us spotting the Northern Lights tonight. (Saturday 5 October)
Experts say the aurora borealis is most likely to be spotted in Scotland, Northern Ireland, northern England and even on the Island.
Astronomer Howard Parkin told Manx Radio the forecast for the aurora borealis the next 24-48 hours is 'very strong' at a level of 7++.
He added that it had already been seen in Alaska a few hours ago and the activity could be as good as the one in May meaning it could be seen overhead around the Island not just towards the northern skies:
