A vet from the Isle of Man who travelled to South America to treat neglected animals, says the trip helped educate local people about the vital need to look after their livestock.
Karl Bovenizer and veterinary nurse Laura Bruder, from the Arg Beiyn practice, joined a team of United Kingdom vets on a mission to help abandoned and overworked animals in Peru last autumn.
They were helping the charity Association Humanitarian of St Francis of Assisi, which offers basic veterinary care many locals could not afford.
