Vintage bus to return

A vintage bus will be adding some nostalgic style to public transport when it returns to service next month.

The no.2 Leyland Titan bus first went into service on the Island on April 16, 1949 - one of 18 original vehicles with the registration KMN500 to KMN517.

It was widely known as the Number 74 when it was re-numbered in 1968. It was withdrawn from service in 1973, having travelled over half a million miles, and sold to a UK dealer.

It was housed in St Helen's Transport Museum until it returned to the Island in 1995.

The bus will be on display in the Tynwald Hill car park at St John's on Tynwald Day.
