
The Island's Director of Public Health has reported a sharp increase in the number of norovirus cases this winter.
Dr Parameswaran Kishore says a particularly virulent strain is circulating among the Manx population, causing severe vomiting.
No official statistics are available, but Dr Kishore says that for every one reported case of the winter vomiting bug, 250 are thought by the health department to go unreported.
