Round-Britain challenge in Manx waters

An historic sailing ship, crewed by disabled military personnel has berthed in Douglas on a round-Britain voyage.

The Spirit of Falmouth has 12 on board.

After a quiet trip from Liverpool, she had a choppy time in Douglas Bay before tying-up at the Victoria Pier.

The 2000 mile expedition has been organised by Turn to Starboard, a charity which uses sailing as therapy for hundreds of former servicemen suffering physical injuries or mental trauma. 

It helps participants reintegrate and gain skills to start new careers. 

Her skipper, ex-Royal Marine Dan Fielding gained his Yacht Master status on the scheme.
