Wait for A-level results ends today

It's a big day for over 400 of the Isle of Man's high school students today (Thursday), with A-Level results due to be released.

Last year saw a record number of passes, with over 98% of students getting grades A*-E.

School improvement adviser for 11-19 education Jan Gimbert says it can be frustrating for teachers, pupils and education officials, because when new benchmarks are set it leads some to say the exams have got easier.

Mrs Gimbert says that's simply not the case, with improvements being down to a number of factors:
