Warning for 'disorderly' parents attending schools

Police tell people to follow 'appropriate channels' with concerns

Police are warning parents not to attend educational settings on the Island and be disorderly.

Officers say they’ve had reports of people acting in a manner that is not ‘suitable’.

They say parents with issues about their children which require attention should follow the ‘appropriate channels’ in order to discuss them.

Under the Education Act 2001 it is an offence to act in a disorderly manner on school premises.

Anyone who behaves in a violent, quarrelsome, indecent or disorderly manner or who uses profane, obscene, indecent or threatening language could be fined up to £1,000.
