Fears uncertainty may disrupt trend

Government says a close eye must be on the Island's employment trends now the UK has voted to leave the European Union.

June saw a fall in the number of registered unemployed - down 27 on the previous month and more than 130 on June last year.

It is the lowest jobless total since October 2008, just after the global financial crisis.

The unemployment rate now stands at 1.4%. 

However Chief Minister Allan Bell says that could change amid economic uncertainty, in the wake of Brexit.
