Water balloon incidents

Police are appealing for information after two incidents in the north of the Island last night (Thurs) involving water filled balloons.

They were thrown at a moving car at St Jude’s crossroads at around 6.20pm, causing the windscreen to crack as well as damage to the wiper blades of the vehicle.

The driver in question was forced to stop the vehicle abruptly and was extremely distressed by the incident.

It’s believed someone in a white coloured Ford car threw the balloons, as they had done around half an hour earlier in Ramsey when they hit a small child riding a bicycle.

Again the child was distressed.

Police say the actions of the occupants of the Ford were extremely dangerous and could easily have resulted in injury, while Inspector Derek Flint (pictured) said at a time of the year when road safety is paramount, such reckless behaviour is beyond belief.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Pc Kevin Quirk at Ramsey Police Station on 812234 or any police officer.

Alternatively you can call the anonymous Crimestoppers line 0800 555 111.
