Wet but not wettest

The Isle of Man may have had a disappointing summer - but it hasn't been our wettest.

Last month's floods in the UK made 2007 the wettest summer in England since records began.

But the jet stream which caused them went south of the Island - and meant we were spared any summer flooding.

Figures show this has been the Island's wettest summer in 10 years - and the 6th wettest on record.

The effects of global warming may be to blame - so is this the shape of things to come?
