Wildlife experts say a humpback whale spotted off the west coast of the Isle of Man recently was the first reported in Manx waters for two decades.
It was seen around five miles from Peel at the end of last month and is thought to be the same mammal seen off Dublin a few days earlier.
Humpback whales are commonly found in the Atlantic Ocean off the west coast of Ireland, but are hardly ever reported in Manx waters.
