
An MHK is calling for tighter controls on developers for maintaining trees, paths and car parks on their sites.
South Douglas member Bill Malarkey says when a company's been wound-up or put into liquidation, it can be impossible to find anyone responsible for looking after common areas on housing estates.
One of his constituents made lengthy inquiries to find the owmer of trees overhanging her property - but drew a blank.
In Tynwald this week, Mr Malarkey asked if ownership of unadopted areas reverts to the Treasury.
