Unusual find triggers search for WWII author
A chance encounter has sparked a search for the mystery author of a 'message in a bottle' cast away almost eighty years ago.
Douglas man Keith Fitton was visiting a relative in Morecambe when he heard the story of the note, washed up on the bay there in 1952.
It had been penned by Lonan woman June Hudson before the Second World War.
The man who discovered it never got in touch with her.
June lived at Cronk Mooar cottage in Glen Roy, and since the happening, Keith has unearthed a little more about her life.
Both gentlemen are keen to find out more about June.
If her name rings a bell, you can get in touch with Keith Fitton on Facebook.
