Wind Orchestra call

Calling all brass and percussion players – the Isle of Man Wind Orchestra needs you!

It’s holding rehearsals this afternoon (Sunday) and next Sunday ahead of a weekend workshop in the New Year, led by one of the UK’s leading young conductors Mark Heron.

His visit will culminate in a concert of music described as challenging, accessible and, above all, fun.

It’s hoped the orchestra will be joined by other woodwind, brass, percussion and string bass players of a standard similar to grade four or above, although exams aren’t necessary.

Today’s rehearsal for brass and percussion will take place between 2pm and 4pm at Onchan Silver Band Room, behind the Onchan Commissioners’ offices.
