Winds causing problems for motorists

 

High winds have been bringing trees down around the Island this morning causing problems for motorists.

 

The Mountain Road remains closed after a tree came down between Ramsey Hairpin and The Gooseneck blocking half the roadway.

 

Bridge Street in Castletown closed from its junction with Victoria Road through to Douglas Street becuase of an unstable boat on the quayside.

 

A tree was blocking half the roadway in the area of Bishopscourt on the Kirk Michael to Ballaugh road earlier.

 

The Northern Civic Amenity site has reopened for business - all four sites closed earlier becuase of high winds.

 

Marine Parade in Peel has reopened after being closed earlier, as is Glen Darragh Road in Glen Vine as well as Patrick Road, Mount Rule, and Mount Gawne Road.

 

Loch Promenade in Douglas has also reopened after it was closed becuase of debris being blown from buildings.

 

The DOI has mobile teams clearing the routes as quickly as possible.
