Witness appeal after raid on store

Police are continuing to investigate an overnight burglary at B&Q on the Spring Valley industrial estate.

A substantial amount of cash was taken in the raid.

Members of the Eastern Neighbourhood Policing Team and CID have been at the store today (Thursday) and are appealing for anybody who was in the area during the night to get in touch.

B&Q has confirmed there has been a burglary and says the company is working closely with police.

Detective Sergeant Brian Shimmin says officers were alerted earlier today (play audio file):

Anybody with information is asked to ring Police Headquarters on 631212 or the anonymous Crimestoppers line, on 0800 555 111.

The store was closed this morning, but opened for business at lunchtime.
