Two hospitalised after stamping and kicking

Police are asking witnesses to come forward after two men were hospitalised following what’s being described as a “vicious” assault.

Officers say the incident happened at 1.30am on Saturday at the junction of Prospect Hill and Nelson Street in Douglas.

A fight broke out involving a number of local residents, and Detective Constable Samuel Cannell says punches, kicks and stamping were reported.

Two men have been arrested, but investigators say they’re keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time.
