Woman defends bishop petition

Around 200 signatures collected

The woman who set up an online petition calling for the Island’s Lord Bishop to resign says it’s quite right the matter should be aired in public.

Last week, pastor of the Living Hope Community Church Jonathan Stanfield said the row over allegations clergy had been bullied should be a private matter for the Anglican Church.

But Sunday school teacher Rosalind Taisia, whose document collected almost 200 names, says she disagrees.

Rosalind says because the Bishop is a member of the Manx parliament, any such claims need to be made openly:
