Woman tries to have £10,000 worth of cannabis posted to her

Nineteen-year-old admits drug production and possession

A Douglas woman will be sentenced at the Court of General Gaol Delivery after trying to have £10,000 worth of cannabis posted to her from the UK.

Nineteen-year-old Sineade O’Brien of Sherwood Terrace appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas courthouse.

She pleaded guilty to possessing cannabis and producing it on 22 May this year – police found a small amount of the drug at her home after intercepting a package with more than 500 grammes of the drug inside.

O’Brien was committed for sentence to the higher court and was bailed in the sum of £500 to appear there on 3 July.
