'Women born in the 50s entitled to full pension'

MHK wants UK changes closely monitored

An MHK wants women born in the 1950s to be treated fairly over pensions, and for government to monitor UK developments on the issue. 

Raising the retirement age both on Island and in the UK have left many women born that decade loosing thousands of pounds from their pensions pots, before they could claim from the fund.  

North Douglas member David Ashford will press the Treasury Minister on the subject next Tuesday (19) in the House of Keys.

He says government needs to recognise that for many women the situation is far from ideal:
