There is a chance to whittle woodland skills into shape at the Close Sartfield nature reserve today (Saturday).
The Manx Wildlife Trust is holding a Winter Woodland Workshop, with demonstrations of a number of activities, including coppicing, and making charcoal, willow fences and faggots.
Participants will have a chance to make bird nest boxes to take away in time for National Bird Box Week, held at around this time every year by the British Trust for Ornithology.
The Manx Bat Group will also be there to help members of the public make bat boxes. They can be bought and taken home, or left for the group to erect in suitable positions around the Island.
Close Sartfield is at Ballaugh Curraghs and today's event runs from 10am to 2pm.
