Large capital estates programme expected to progress in the next month
It's hoped work to redevelop the section of Noble's Hospital that includes the Emergency Department will help reduce the amount of time patients spend there.
Figures recently published by Manx Care show the percentage of people being discharged or admitted to another department within four hours of arriving at ED fell to 68% in December.
Director of Health Services Oliver Radford says the design of the facility means it can only treat 16 patients at a time, but can often have 50 attending at once.

Manx Care has confirmed to Manx Radio that the project does not yet have a budget, but that an application has been made so that initial designs and costing can be done.
