Work to start on new multi-use games area at Breagle Glen

Delayed project to get underway next week

A delayed project to build a new multi-use games area (MUGA) will get underway next week, it's been confirmed.

The facility at Breagle Glen was initially expected to be completed 12 months ago, however, was delayed because of the coronavirus pandemic.

A basketball court and five-a-side pitch form part of the plans, along with a new footpath to improve access to the site.

Kompan UK and local contractors E G Services will be used for large elements of the work.

Port Erin Commissioners says it is thought the project will be completed in around six weeks time.

Chairman of the local authority, Godfrey Egee, added: "The new multi-use games area further adds to investments made by the Board over the past few years into recreational facilities within Port Erin."
