WOSAT? It's the Art Trail!

A major showcase event for Manx artists will burst into life next weekend - spanning the early May bank holiday (May 2nd, 3rd, 4th).

The Western Open Studio Art Trail or WOSAT, is in its fourth year and expanding rapidly - with more artists, events, venues and followers than ever before.

Among new features for 2015 - a mini music festival and a poetry bombing in Peel!

The unique event offers an opportunity to see artists at work in their studios - normally very private places - and demonstrating their skills in public venues.

An arts trail takes visitors around the west of the Island, from studio, to gallery, to church and community hall.

En route visitors will view a wide range of visual art, in techniques from oil and acrylic, to textiles, wood carving and ceramics.

Last year, organisers the Creative Network yarn-bombed Peel, this year a band of bards will poetry bomb the town on the Saturday.

Also new, a WOSAT festival ceilidh and a poetry and music concert in the evenings.

The festival will be officially opened next Saturday morning (2 May) in Peel by the town's MHK Tim Crookall.
